Welcome to the home of our London Hair Salon, Fitzrovia!
Fitzrovia is bohemian, social, creative and entertaining… and this little village north of Oxford Street and Soho is where our London hairdressers call home.
Haug London Haus’s little black book of Fitzrovia.
One of our favourite things about working in Fitzrovia is that it is possibly the West End’s best kept secret for rooftop drinks and alfresco dining during the summer months! In the spirit of sharing, our team have compiled a list of our favourite haunts for delicious pastries, a lazy (or working) brunch, al fresco drinks and freshly prepared sushi … enjoy!
Sohishi - handmade sushi & bento
Recommended by Claire Nathan, our hair colour expert!
At lunchtime we recommend walking along Rathbone Street and glancing up at Fitzrovia’s most famous landmark the BT Tower before turning into Charlotte Place for freshly cooked Japanese food at Sohishi.
Our repeat order is the spicy dragon rolls, seaweed salad and a cheeky chocolate mochi for desert!
Sohishi is located at 2 Charlotte Place, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 1SB
Elyseé - Greek food and rooftop drinks
Recommended by Julian Marques, our salon’s artistic director and master hairdresser
Ok, now we’re giving away one of London’s best kept rooftop secrets; Elyseé.
London’s original Greek restaurant, Elyseé, was founded in 1936 and is housed within a typical Fitzrovia Georgian town house on Percy Street. It is just a couple of minutes’ walk from Tottenham Court Road Station and the British Museum.
It has a huge roof top terrace that’s covered in flora and soft lighting. They serve mezze, shisha and do a really good souvlaki (Julian highly recommends the pork!). When the evening gets chilly the retractable roof comes over and the heaters are turned on meaning this is not just a summer destination, there’s something quite lovely about sitting outside in the middle of winter!
Elyseé can be located at 13 Percy Street, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 1DP
Fitzrovia is like Soho's more grown-up sibling, but it isn't any less fun.
Fitzrovia is a diverse residential area where grand 18th and 19th-century apartment buildings sit side by side with social housing. Handy for the West End theatres, it’s filled with hotels, galleries, and old-school pubs. Charlotte Street is lined with lively bistros and cafes, and the surrounding streets are home to new media, advertising, and architectural companies. It is also home to the lofty BT Tower, an iconic central London landmark.
If you’ve found yourself here whilst researching the local neighbourhood, feel free to stop by our Fitzrovia hair salon for coffee and a chat! Whether that’s a hair consultation or to exchange London recommendations, we’re always looking to add to our little black book and we would would love to meet you!
